Preparing figures for an owner briefing

7 March 2026

A checklist for gathering multi-location extracts so a briefing session starts with clean, comparable numbers.

Preparing figures for an owner briefing

Owner briefings fail when half the locations arrive in different formats. Agree one export layout before anyone opens a spreadsheet.

Ask each unit for the same three months, labelled with the official location name used in your franchise agreement — not a nickname used by the local manager.

Strip personal staff names from labour files unless the briefing specifically covers individual roles. Aggregated hours and cost are enough for most owner decisions.

Flag known one-offs in a separate column: renovations, temporary closures, or a large catering order. Untagged anomalies distort rankings and waste briefing time.

Send the pack at least two business days before the session. That window lets the facilitator mark questions in advance instead of discovering gaps live.
